Price. Well, I haven’t felt so good since I was a kid! I’m kinda pissed that I missed out on butter and meat etc for 9 years! Not to mention I developed lactose intolerance in 1996 and hadn’t had milk until now, it has to be grass-fed and non-pasteurized/non-homogenized otherwise I get sick, but hey, it’s great!</p>

<p>I had not tried a grain-free diet.  I had cut down on grains considerably from my earlier vegetarian days, and at the time I read Neanderthin, I used grains, mostly oatmeal and some rice, in relatively small amounts, along the lines Barry Sears laid out in <em><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Zone-Dietary-Permanently-Physical-Performance/dp/0060391502?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=primwisd-20&amp;link_code=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969" target="_blank">The Zone</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=primwisd-20&amp;l=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969&amp;o=1&amp;a=0060391502" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></em>.  None of the other books I mentioned gave me any reason to consider grains inappropriate food for humans, but as soon as I read that first page of Neanderthin, I realized that grains and beans were the first staple foods consumed by humans that required processing to make them edible &#8212; the first processed foods.</p>
<p>I hold a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Toledo, Ohio, a diploma in Comprehensive Nutrition from the American Academy of Nutrition, Corona Del Mar, California, certification by the International Association of Resistance Trainers, and a Master&#8217;s Degeree in Oriental Medicine. I head the nutrition department at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ, and serve as an adjunct faculty member in the Nutrition Department of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. I have qualified for MENSA membership.</p>
